Constructed at more than R250 million and the first ever in a Free State township outside Mangaung Metro. Boitumelo Junction opened its doors on March 24, 2016 in Thabong, Matjhabeng Local Municipality, in the Lejweleputswa District. Fittingly named Boitumelo (joy or happiness) Junction, the project created 250 employment opportunities during the construction process and ensured that 300 additional employment opportunities have been created following the completion through retail, cleaning as well as facilities management services. Boitumelo Junction on the corner of A Phakathi Drive and Nkoane Street in Thabong is hailed as reflecting investor's trust in the future and growth potential of Matjhabeng Local Municipality. The total GLA is 22 100m² and consists of major retailers such as Boxer, Shoprite, Truworths, Ackermans, Capitec, Markham, Mr Price, Pep, Sportscene, FNB and a KFC Drive Thru, which is also a first for Thabong.
